Monitoring and Command Line Interface



Introduction

COSbatch Training Session 4 is designed to provide students with the knowledge required to monitor COSbatch, and to use the COSbatch command line interface.

Objectives

On completion of this course, students should have acquired sufficient understanding to be able to monitor COSbatch objects such as jobs, suites and queues. The session also provides an insight into how to troubleshoot problems that might arise within COSbatch. The course will also cover usage of the command line interface (CLI) to control and maintain COSbatch as an alternative to the standard graphical user interface.

Structure

The course will adopt the following structure:

  • Monitoring of suites
  • Monitoring of jobs
  • Monitoring of jobs within a queue
  • Monitoring of jobs within a suite
  • Monitoring of suites and jobs in a specific state
  • Monitoring of suites and jobs belonging to a specific user
  • Monitoring of suites and suite jobs using the COSbatch Viewer
  • Viewing of job execution logs
  • Reviewing system logs
  • COSbatch command line interface:
    • Job Submission
    • Definition of a suite
    • Use of a COSbatch command line inside a script

  • COSbatch Training Session 2 - Architecture and Administration
  • COSbatch Training Session 3 - Suite and Job Maintenance and Preconditions
